AEROBIC REPAIR

There are four main components to an aerobic septic system. They are the air pump, water pump, control box, and sprinkler heads & lines. If one or more of them are not working, you will need to schedule an aerobic repair.

Each component plays a vital role in the function and efficiency of your aerobic septic system. We have summarized the function of each and some common warning signs that might indicate you need and aerobic repair.

AIR PUMP/AERATOR

The air pump forces air through diffusers into the bottom of the septic tank to kill bad bacteria and promote good bacteria. Functioning air pumps kill septic odor, so you want these to be working.

WATER PUMP

The water pump feeds the sprinkler system treated water to be sprayed through the sprinklers onto the yard. Your water pump has to be working in order to get rid of excess water and keep your tank from backing up.

CONTROL BOX

The control box is the main control for your septic system. It alerts you when there are any problems. It tells the water pump when to come on (what time of day). It also feeds power to the whole system.

SPRINKLER HEADS & LINES

Sprinkler heads & lines are the simplest part of the septic system, but one of the most vital. If your sprinkler heads or lines have been crushed (or cut off by a lawn mower), you can have puddling and create a mosquito breeding ground.

Do you have an alarm light on, or are you noticing an odor?

Did you know?

Aerobic Septic Systems are an environmentally friendly choice for treating your septic wastes.

Instead of dumping waste into a river or sending to a treatment plant where it is turned into city drinking water, aerobic systems treat wastewater right at your home and then return treated water to the local environment. This is a great way to keep your lawn looking greener without watering.
